Well today our nurse said that at rounds they mentioned that if she is going to have surgery (still don't know yet) she shouldn't be drinking from latex nipples! Of course! Why wouldn't the bottle that actually works have some issue with it?! Luckily, I bought a Drop-Ins bottle that came with a silicone nipple and just happened to decide to try it today. Thank goodness it worked or who knows what we'd do!
No MRI today. She still is on the waiting list. They say hers is non-emergent. Clearly these people .... whoever 'they' is ... have never had a child in the NICU, especially one who's been there for almost 8 weeks just waiting to find out what is going on! Who says its 'non-emergent'??? It's emergent to Jeremy and me, not to mention our families!!! Oh well ... I guess it's better in the long run to be non-emergent than emergent. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday.
Jeremy and I spent a long time this morning and again this afternoon and into this evening at the hospital. We tried a little play time to work on her neck muscles. Trying to do what the therapist tells us! She did well, but only tolerated it for a little while. Then we tried to get her to play with her toy. She sort of got it, but didn't stay interested that long. She was awake a lot today! She's changing so fast. Today she smiled more and even laughed a little!
It was a good day!
